On one hand, two weeks ago seems very much the distant past and, on the other hand, all the excitement happened only yesterday.

I thought she had received it as a wedding gift, but there is a small circle etched in the bottom that reads “JHoare &amp; Co., 1853, Corning.” The base is 6 inches tall, and with the bowl on top, it is 9 inches tall. I was wondering why there are two pieces. One small notch on the upper portion has a tiny smooth chip; otherwise, it is in good condition.

My husband’s job was doing building and remodeling. Self-employed at the time, he fell through a floor, falling 20 feet onto concrete. This left him permanently damaged over many parts of his body. He was off work for more than a year and I had to quit work to care for him. He is now able to do some minimal work, but we have depleted our savings and sold stocks and anything else that we could live without. Luckily, our home was already paid for, but we did take out a home-equity loan to help subsidize us through that tough time. Now that all of that is behind us, how can we get ahead again?

</title><link>http://naplesnews.com/news/2008/nov/07/self-watering-containers-make-small-space-gardens-/?partner=RSS</link><description>All hail this humble container. With a tray for soil up here and a reservoir for water down there, a “self-watering” container can be made to produce a sizable crop of vegetables, fruit or flowers — without a spacious garden site. Any concrete pad, balcony, rooftop or classroom will do.

What do you think of quitclaim deeds? Is the transition easy? What about putting their names on my savings and checking accounts?

Give up? Back in the 17th century, it was called the tall case clock. Not until 1875, when a song titled “My Grandfather’s Clock” became popular, did the current name take over.

</title><link>http://naplesnews.com/news/2008/nov/07/furniture-innovation-moves-toward-small-markets-bo/?partner=RSS</link><description>The arid landscape of a furniture industry in a slump has found one of its few oases by targeting customers too young to buy.
One of the industry’s most promising niches are children under 18, said insiders gathering this week at the twice-yearly furniture trade show in High Point, N.C. The younger generation is seen as an underdeveloped market for bedroom furniture, even though consumers are worried about their jobs, loans are hard to get and falling home sales mean fewer families are buying furnishings.
