John Congemi and Axcess Sports and Entertainment have brought the Dodge Celebrity Invitational back to Naples.

And Congemi, the former University of Pittsburgh quarterback and current TV analyst, has brought along one of his friends — Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino.

Pro-ams will be played today and Friday, with tee times from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and from noon to 1 p.m. off Nos. 1 and 10 tees on the Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed Flamingo Island Course at Lely Resort.

No tee times have been released, as of Wednesday night, but Marino is scheduled to tee off between noon and 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Congemi said Wednesday night.

The tournament will conclude with one round in a Ryder Cup-style team format on Saturday that will be 18 holes or 27 holes, Congemi said Tuesday.

“I think everything’s going well,’’ Congemi said. “It’s unfortunate that we had some cancelations at the last minute with some different things going on.’’

The pairings party was held at the Bayfront Inn Fifth Avenue on Wednesday night.

In addition to Marino, 12 other current or former pro football players and eight former hockey players dominate the field, which also includes NFL Network and HBO Real Sports host Bryant Gumbel.

Former Florida Everblades star Tom Buckley is one of the hockey players.

“They’re all good golfers,’’ Congemi said of the hockey players. “You want to get hockey players because they all can play golf.’’

Atlanta Falcons linebacker Keith Brooking is the only current NFL player.

Fort Myers resident and four-time Dodge Celebrity champion Mike Trombley, a former baseball player for the Minnesota Twins, although he won’t be defending his crown because of a switch to a team competition on Saturday.

“I think they’re all excited about coming down from wherever they’re at,’’ Congemi said. “It’s all about having fun. I think everyone’s looking forward to having a good time.’’

The Coalition to Salute American Heroes is the tournament charity. While there is no formal admission to the tournament, Congemi said donations are being requested for the charity.
