The Florida Everblades held their annual season-ending jersey auction on Thursday, April 24, and the auction of the White 10th Anniversary Jerseys worn by the players throughout the 2007-08 season raised $14,100 for the Deb Kelsey Memorial Fund.
The bids for the game-worn jerseys ranged from $150 - $1,500. Overall, 32 jerseys were auctioned off with Everblade forward Brad Zancanaro's jersey selling for the highest amount at $1,500. Everblades captain Ernie Hartlieb's uniform fetched the second highest bid at $1,250, and a pair of jerseys nabbed the third highest bid as both Brad Herauf's and Adam Taylor's jersey both sold for $600.
The Deb Kelsey Memorial Scholarship Fund benefits underprivileged children in Southwest Florida, allowing them a chance to play ice hockey by donating equipment and other items needed to participate.
Since their inception, the Everblades have now donated over $700,000 to local charities through several community outreach programs including the charity jersey auctions.
Deposits are being accepted now for 2008-09 Florida Everblades season tickets. Fans can reserve seats for $50. Visit www.floridaeverblades.com and www.germainarena.com for more information on ticket packages, pricing and upcoming Germain Arena events.
