Calusa Pines Golf Club assistant Boomer Erick fired a 5-under 67 to move into a tie for third at the South Florida PGA Section Championship in West Palm Beach on Wednesday.
Erick had a 36-hole total of 5-under 139, three behind leader Sean Quinlivan of Palm City. Ryan Garrity of Jupiter is in second at 138, and Erick is tied with Alan Morin of Royal Palm Beach and Nick Ayala of Delray Beach. Hideout Golf Club's Gene Fieger had a 74 and is at 140, tied for sixth. John Lee of Imperial shot a 69 and is in 10th at 142.
The field of 122 switched off between the Champion Course at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens and the Rees Jones Course at the Breakers in West Palm Beach the first two rounds. The low 49 and ties advanced to today's final round at the Breakers-Rees Jones Course.
