WEST PALM BEACH Gilberto Kaminos scored the first goal in Ave Maria University men’s soccer history on Friday, but the Gyrenes lost 6-1 to host Northwood in West Palm Beach.
Ave Maria held the Seahawks scoreless for the first half thanks to Gyrenes keeper Matthew Mullaley, who finished with seven saves.
Northwood’s Joonas Siikala scored the game’s first goal nine minutes into the second half. Siikala added another five minutes later and completed the hat trick with 18 minutes remaining.
