DURHAM, N.C. The Dave Nichols era began with a pair of losses Friday when the FGCU volleyball team fell 3-1 to Maine and 3-2 to UNC-Asheville in the Eagles' first matches with their new coach.
FGCU took the first set 25-22 against Maine but then lost the next three, 25-21, 25-12, 25-17 in the Eagles’ opening game of the North Carolina Central tournament in Durham.
Naples High grad Cheyenne Jenks led the Eagles with 10 kills, and Amy Casteel had a team-high 29 assists against Maine
The Eagles fell 25-23, 21-25, 22-25, 25-22, and 15-8 to UNC-Asheville.

The girls wanted a coach that smiles. Is he still smiling? Because that was important wasn't it?
