COLLIER SHERIFF
Deputies: Copeland woman spilled hot coffee on baby
Collier County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 23-year-old Copeland woman Thursday night after they say she failed to get medical treatment for her baby after she spilled coffee on the boy and the boy hit his head on a coffee table.
Kathy Lynn Lamphere, 930 Seaboard Village Drive, Apt. E, was charged with neglect of a child without great bodily harm.
Deputies were called to the home by the baby’s grandparents, Lynn and Ervin Stokes, around 5 p.m., according to an arrest report. When they arrived, Lynn Stokes was holding the baby, which had marks on its back and a bump on its head.
The grandparents told deputies that Lamphere lives in an apartment on the back of their property. The boy’s father, Christopher Stokes, has been in jail for two months, reports said.
Reports said that on Thursday afternoon, Lamphere called a baby sitter to watch the boy as she napped. The baby sitter saw the marks on the baby’s back and the bump on his head and reported them to the child’s grandparents, deputies said.
Collier County EMS responded to the home to transport the boy to the hospital.
As the ambulance prepared to leave, Lamphere arrived. She told deputies that three days earlier the baby was playing on the floor and that she tripped and spilled hot coffee on the boy’s back. Her father told her to put burn medicine on the baby’s back, she said.
Lamphere said that on Thursday the baby was crawling and hit his head on a coffee table, causing the bump on his head.
Lamphere rode in the ambulance with her son, reports said. A doctor confirmed that the baby had second-degree burns on his back and a head injury that needed immediate attention.

At least he paid her before hitting her, wonder if she got to at least keep the money.

Miabrat...spoken like a true abusive man.
Domestic violence is alive and well here, and jokesters like you laugh as women put up with the lack of police reponse to help, especially in divorce situations.
It is really aweful to think this is happening so often in Naples.
VOTE for the best choice in the next election....who will it be?
We will wait and see.

Ever been on Francis Ave?
It's a very wierd street off of Shawdowlawn Drive in East Naples, consisting of old, very small wood frame houses and small du-plexes.
The houses look uninhabital, but people do live in them.
Check it out sometime, it's interesting.
Just don't move there.

A lot of time after we read a comment from an article and dont understand. I think we might be better off to ask the person who made the comment. Rather than just jump to some conclusion of what we think. Then the treads might be a little more friendly. Cause when you read these threads you can almost feel the stress everyones under. After all we are all under enough stress about the uncertainty of how the current state of our country is in.
But thats just my opinion
