Collier County deputies uncovered 77 marijuana plants and about 3 pounds of loose marijuana with an estimated street value of $240,000 after serving a search warrant Thursday morning in Golden Gate Estates, according to the Sheriff's Office.
A search of the residence at 3980 33rd Ave. N. E., by deputies also turned up marijuana grow equipment with an estimated value of $10,000, reports show. Jobannes Cruz, 33, of Miami, , the sole occupant of the house, was charged at 11:03 p.m. Thursday with trafficking in marijuana and possession of narcotic paraphernalia.
Sheriff's Office vice and narcotics investigators received information in June that Cruz was involved with and operating a marijuana grow house at the Golden Gates Estates address. During July, investigators developed probable cause and procured a search warrant for this residence, reports show.
Since January, the Sheriff's Office has shut down 27 suspected marijuana grow houses in Collier County, uncovering a total of 1,510 plants with a combined estimated street value of $4.5 million, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Gee, I wonder did they get a search warrant this time and did they properly weigh the pot so it won't be tossed out of the courts?

More than 3000.00 per plant??!!I'm sure many are thinking that is worthing the risk of going to jail for that much money.

That seems like a rather inflated figure for 77 plants, I think someone at the sheriffs office is smokin somethin to come up with that figure.
Also, these busts are ruining the economy.

Actually they are ruining FPL's bottom line.... More price hikes to come!
Side Note: Why don't the cops just sell it and put the money back into the police system to catch more, they now use the other types of property they confiscate.

This at a time when the drug labs are racing to produce marijuana based pharmaceuticals to treat cancer, anxiety and other disorders...
Arrest the cops and we will all be better off.

Chickendog...maybe they lost their stash?
I do hope those conducting the raid followed proper procedures. Hate it when crooks walk free because of technical stuff.
