A complaint filed in late June with the Florida Elections Commission by Collier County sheriff candidate Vinny Angiolillo that accused a fellow candidate of disrupting his campaign and damaging his reputation “appears to be legally insufficient,” the commission reported.
Angiolillo said Monday that he intends to provide additional information to demonstrate the legitimacy of the complaint.
Angiolillo initially filed the complaint on June 27 against fellow sheriff candidate Kevin Rambosk and the Collier County Sheriff’s Office. Rambosk, currently an executive officer with the Sheriff’s Office with no supervisory duties, was the undersheriff until May 2, when he was reassigned to avoid running afoul of an obscure federal election law.
Rambosk said in a prepared statement that he expected to be cleared of any misconduct.
“Complaints like this one are merely politically motivated as a means of attempting to discredit my 30 years of committed public service and my qualifications,” Rambosk wrote. “I think the public recognizes these complaints for what they are and, more importantly, as a waste of taxpayers’ dollars.”
In his complaint, Angiolillo made four charges against Rambosk and the Sheriff’s Office, two of which have to do with Angiolillo’s October 2007 arrest on misdemeanor counts of violating an injunction against repeat or dating violence.
A recording made of Angiolillo by the woman with the injunction against him was made illegally, Angiolillo said. He also said in the complaint that reports that he violated the injunction by coming within 500 feet of a sports bar on Immokalee Road were not true and an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office would have cleared his name.
The charges against Angiolillo were dismissed in Collier County court in June.
Angiolillo, who was arrested one week after announcing his candidacy, argued that Rambosk had a duty to review his case before taking legal action and wrote that “his failure to do so implicates his neglect and willingness to allow the unsubstantiated charges and violations to proceed.”
In the complaint, Angiolillo also argued that the Sheriff’s Office disrupted a town hall meeting he was holding at a local VFW and removed his towing company, AA Auto, from its rotation.
In a July 7 response, Barbara M. Linthicum, executive director of the Florida Elections Commission, wrote to Angiolillo that she had reviewed his complaint and said it “appears to be legally insufficient.”
“Although you allege misconduct on the part of Kevin Rambosk, your complaint does not contain any evidence of misconduct,” Linthicum wrote.
Angiolillo has two weeks from the date of the letter to provide additional information to the commission, which he said he intends to do.
“They stated in there that the complaint was legally insufficient. I totally disagree and am moving forward with it,” Angiolillo said. “Now I will provide pertinent information that should have been divulged and brought up as part of their investigation. I’m going to do their job for them.”

Geez, with under his eyes it looks like he's lost thirty years of sleep, too. :-)

Congratulations, Sheriff Rambosk.
You'll make a great sheriff.

Maybe he'll get more sleep, too.
He looks a bit tired in this photo.

I could not say it any better than the man himself;
"Complaints like this one are merely politically motivated as a means of attempting to discredit my 30 years of committed public service and my qualifications," Rambosk wrote. "I think the public recognizes these complaints for what they are and, more importantly, as a waste of taxpayers’ dollars."
Yes, Kevin the majority of the public agree! Don't forget to vote on the last Tuesday in August. AUGUST 26TH IS ELECTION DAY!

Vinny was last seen climbing up a ladder to get into his Limo, and he drove away the wrong way on a one-way street. If this idiot or the other guy Ortino are elected into office, I have a house in Pelican Bay that I'll sell. Both of these people are not, repeat, not qualified to be in charge of a Security Guard at Wal-Mart let alone the Collier County Sheriff's position. Look at the facts people.

Hey Toesmom, where are you with more lies about Rambosk and the Agency? Please provide some facts with your next post. And Vinnie thinks he can be Sheriff? He actually thinks Rambosk reviews cases? No, that's what investigators and their immediate supervisors do. Why would Rambosk involve himself with Vinnie's trivial problems? Vinnie is his own worst enemy. All Rambosk has to do is watch. The only qualified candidate is Kevin Rambosk!

Thank you, Kevin Rambosk, for running for Sheriff.
We are lucky to have you in the race. Now if those other two would just stop wasting our time and other people's money!

Congratulations! Sheriff Rambosk. You are the ONLY qualified candidate to serve in this position.
We all know who toesmom is. It's a former reject from the CCSO who talks garbage constantly. Victor and Vinny the lights are OUT now rest in peace. VOTE RAMBOSK for Sheriff on August 26th.

Say what you want about Vinny - he's great for entertainment. I hope he wins. Anybody but Rambo.

Vinnie may just get more than 1000 votes. Most of the people who want a free ride home from the bar will be voting for him. He is great for entertainment, but not as our top cop. At least he didn't falsify time cards.
