Collier commission defers St. Matthew’s impact fee payment 4 years

St. Matthew’s House and Wolfe Apartments Executive Director Vann Ellison will get another four years to cough up the some $73,000 owed in deferred impact fees.

Collier commissioners unanimously agreed to give Ellison a little extra time.

Housing Director Marcy Krumbine said that the total impact fees due are $178,149.72. Both St. Matt’s and Wolfe are places where those who seek recovery can get back on their feet.

“According to Mr. Ellison, they do have $105,000 for repayment,” Krumbine said. “We can take that and restructure the agreement. You can give them four more years, which would bring (the deferral) up to the 10-year agreement that is now commonly granted.”

Commissioner Frank Halas supported that recommendation to let Ellison pay back the approximately $73,000 over the course of the next four years.

The commission unanimously endorsed the option.

Since March 6, coyotes have been fingered in a string of attacks against dogs, cats and goats in Lee and Collier counties. Coyotes have killed three small dogs, injured three others, and caused a man who came into contact with the coyote’s saliva and a woman who was bitten by one to have rabies shots.
