Dining Spotlight: Sideline Joe’s

Reason to go: Sideline Joe’s, billed as serving “food for the team,” opened last April. Partners Ed and Marquelda Jones, John Melton and restaurateurs, Jack and Nadine Serfass wanted to open a restaurant that caters to families, hungry sports teams and anyone looking for classic American fare, with “take me out to the ballgame roots.”

“Our food is supplied from local purveyors and value priced,” said Ed Jones, a former Wall Street investement banker. “Sideline Joe’s offers a menu of all-American favorites, ranging from $.99 to $10.99. We incorporate fresh ingredients and our meats and produce are from local bakers, butchers and suppliers.”

Melton is in the construction industry and has built several restaurants in Naples, while Jack and Nadine Serfass own Naples Tomato, restaurant, which is located in the same plaza, at Tamiami Square. Jones said he always wanted to own a restaurant and is enjoying the experience along with his seasoned co-owners.

“All of the partners strongly believe that we have a fantastic menu of really good food where families and sports enthusiasts can come in have a great meal and watch sports on our TVs. Perhaps someday there will be several Sideline Joe’s across the country,” Jones said.
