Norm and Marion Armstrong describe their restaurant as, “Your source for great seafood, steaks, prime rib, duck, alcoholic beverages, live entertainment and dancing.”

After working independently in food service for more than 30 years, they decided to “go for it,” and start their own place four years ago at 5047 Tamiami Trail East, in the Village Falls Plaza, off Rattlesnake Hammock.

Prime rib from IVP Midwestern Beef is a crowd-pleaser, but Norm says that the braised duckling is right up there, too. About his half baked chicken, he notes that, “When they see the size of it on the plate, they can’t believe it!” Norm’s Veal Oscar comes paired with fresh, succulent crabmeat, covered in homemade béarnaise sauce.

Entertainment is a big deal, too, with something happening seven nights a week and the biggest dance floor around. Several clubs meet there regularly to cut a rug, and ballroom and country line dancing lessons are offered regularly. Performances range from country and blues to the standards and comedy. Norm’s is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Information: call 793-6720 or 866-696-2408 toll-free.

Norm’s features a full bar, with a bird’s-eye view of the action for customers who are cooling off their dancing shoes.
