The ECHL announced that, as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Professional Hockey Players’ Association and with the exception of three players from the future considerations portion of a March 5 trade with Wheeling, all Columbia Inferno players are deemed unrestricted free agents, effectively immediately.
The Inferno requested and received approval from the ECHL Board of Governors for a voluntary suspension for the 2008-09 season as they continue to work toward a new facility in Lexington County, S.C.
