Florida State baseball beats Savannah State, 24-4
TALLAHASSEE Stuart Talpley followed a two-run homer in the first inning with a grand slam in the second as Florida State beat Savannah State 24-4 on Sunday.
Jack Rye and Tommy Oravetz also homered for Florida State (20-24), who picked up their third straight dominating win over Savannah State. The Seminoles won 23-4 on Friday night and beat Savannah State (20-24) 19-2 on Saturday.
Sunday's game was called after seven innings.
Luke Smierciak hit a three-run triple to right field in the fourth inning, Jack Posey went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Buster Posey went 3-for-3 and scored three runs.
Dexter Kelley homered for Savannah State in the second inning.
Geoff Parker (6-1) lasted four innings, allowing three runs and five hits. He struck out six.
Matthew Oglesby (1-4) gave up 19 runs and 14 hits in his 3 2-3 innings. He walked seven, and didn't strike out a batter.
