Man charged with sexual battery

A 47-year-old East Naples man is being held without bond in the Collier County jail on charges he threatened a woman with a knife, raped her and then stole her car, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

Just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, a 39-year-old woman, whose name was not released, met Timothy Crawford, of 11238 U.S. 41, Apt. 2, in the parking lot of Conty’s Motel, according to an arrest report. Crawford asked if she would take him to a tavern just east of the motel.

Once at the tavern, Crawford asked the woman to take him to Randall Boulevard in exchange for gas money, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

While driving, Crawford and the woman made a U-turn and got stuck in the grass. After making contact with a Collier County sheriff’s deputy, the woman became upset about wasting time and drove back to the motel, reports said.

The woman asked Crawford if she could come inside his unit to use the restroom.

When she came out of the bathroom, Crawford placed a knife to her throat and forced her onto his bed, where he tied her arms and placed a sock over her mouth and then raped her, reports said.

He then stole her jewelry and drove away in her car.

When the woman contacted authorities, deputies were put on the lookout for the vehicle. A deputy later located the vehicle with Crawford behind the wheel, reports said. He refused to give a statement to investigators.

At a court hearing Sunday, Collier Circuit Judge Elizabeth Krier ordered Crawford held without bond on a charge of sexual battery with a deadly weapon.

Deputies: Man stole ATVs

Collier County sheriff’s deputies arrested a 21-year-old man on felony charges over the weekend after they say he stole three ATVs in Golden Gate Estates.

Eric Alexander McComas, of 2360 Randall Blvd., Golden Gate Estates, was charged with grand theft.

Deputies on patrol stopped McComas, who was driving a tan ATV south on the shoulder of Everglades Boulevard near 37th Avenue Northeast around 9 p.m. Saturday, the Sheriff’s Office reported. The ATV matched the description of one that had been reported stolen, reports said.

McComas told deputies he didn’t have a key for the ATV and that he had to disconnect wires to turn it off.

McComas told deputies the ATV belonged to a friend and that he was driving it back to the friend’s house on Randall Boulevard.

A computer search of motor vehicle records revealed the ATV had been reported stolen, reports said.

McComas then led deputies to a wooded area off 62nd Avenue Northeast, where they found two other ATVs, also reported stolen.

Naples police

Third arrest made in koi theft

Police arrested a 45-year-old man Monday morning after they say he urged a Lehigh Acres couple to steal koi fish from a Naples store, and then purchased the $3,000 worth of fish for $800.

Kevin L. Dinger, of 3454 Dorado Way, East Naples, was charged with one count of dealing in stolen property.

About 2:30 a.m. on April 18, Brittany M. Prince and Joshua Schroder, both 21, jumped the fence of the Driftwood Garden Center, 5051 U.S. 41 N., Naples police reported. The couple stole four Japanese koi, valued at about $650 each, and one American koi, valued at $250.

Dinger told Schroder to steal as many koi as he could, and that he would pay him for the fish, Schroder told police. Dinger told investigators he purchased the fish from Schroder for $800, police reported.

Prince’s and Schroder’s identities were revealed the next morning when they went back to the garden center to verify the value of the fish, and were recognized by employees as the burglars they saw on surveillance video. Dinger was at the store with Prince and Schroder.

Prince and Schroder were arrested previously on charges of burglary, petty theft and grand theft. When an investigator asked Prince why she was in the business after hours, she said she couldn’t remember and must have been in a coma.

She must've been in a coma, LMAO. These 2 are pretty dang stupid and to return to the scene of the crime on top of it. What did they do walk in and ask, "hey those fish we stole last night would you be able to tell us how much they're worth?"
