Six of the Sarasota’s 13 hits came in a five-run fourth inning on Monday night, sending the Reds to a 7-2 win over the Fort Myers Miracle at Ed Smith Stadium.
Former Miracle pitcher Alexander Smit gave up three hits and struck out eight to snap the Miracle’s five-game winning streak.
Sarasota blew the game open in the five-run fourth with six hits. Mike DeJesus’ two-run triple was the big hit.
Brian Dinkelman had a double and Edward Ovalle had a sacrifice fly to score the Miracle’s two runs.
Fort Myers’ six-game road trip ends Tuesday night at Sarasota at 7.
