Argument about payment lands boat captain in jail
A boat captain faces felony charges Monday after a dispute with his boss over a payment, according to Collier County sheriff's deputies.
Michael Schloss, 40, 4221 19th Place S.W., Golden Gate, was arrested and charged with robbery.
Arrest reports say Michel Mosallem, 89, told deputies that he met with his boat captain, Schloss, at his 72-foot yacht at Isles of Capri Marina around 5:30 p.m. Monday. Schloss had captained a charter on the yacht Saturday and had received $950 cash from customers, which he was to turn over to Mosallem, reports said.
Mosallem told deputies that Schloss demanded $500 from the payment, reports said. Mosallem refused, telling him he had already paid him the day of the charter, reports said.
Schloss became upset and charged Mosallem, grabbing his hand that contained the money, reports said. Mosallem pulled his hand away and placed it behind his back, reports said.
Schloss then pushed Mosallem’s face and neck between his legs and pried the money from Mosallem’s hand, reports said. He counted $500, threw the rest of the money on the table and left the boat.
