A 12-year-old boy who started a small brush fire in East Naples this evening was caught by Collier County sheriff’s deputies.

Around 8 p.m. firefighters responded to a call of a brush fire in the Spruce Landing community off of Davis Boulevard, said East Naples Fire Capt. Domingo Chinea. When they arrived they extinguished a 30-foot by 30-foot brush fire.

"We got there pretty quick," Chinea said.

The fire was deliberately set, Chinea said. Deputies who were the first responders on scene caught a 12-year-old boy, who they believe started the fire.

Yikes...this kid was only 12 and he now has a criminal record.

How about we take his computer and video game systems and set them on fire?
