With one station in Naples within a cent of the $4 per gallon mark for regular unleaded gasoline, the daily AAA Fuel Gauge report this morning shows another record for the average price of both gasoline and diesel fuel in Southwest Florida.
The Daily News reported Wednesday that one Naples station's price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline had hit $3.989. It is a trend that will continue.
Today, AAA reports for the Fort Myers-Cape Coral region (Naples is not included in the Fuel Gauge report), the average price of gasoline was $3.814 per gallon, up nearly three cents from Wednesday. Diesel fuel was at $4.445, also up nearly three cents over yesterday's prices.
As a reminder, gasoline was at $3.013 per gallon a year ago while diesel fuel was $2.944.
Ouch.
This hurts.
It hurts to write this almost as much as it does to pay these prices for gas as the $4 mark gets closer by the day.
Here is a random survey made Thursday morning of prices for a gallon of unleaded, self-serve.

The UK's gas price is mostly taxes. And, they're are a Socialist Governemnt. Are you suggesting we become Socialists too?

Bush/Cheney - Oilmen keeping oilmen happy.
Remember, Shell and BP have recorded 1st quarter profits of $9,000,000,000 and $7,500,000,000 respectfully (that's BILLIONS). Those are record setting profits.
Now you know what happens when you invade an oil-rich country and lose control of the situation.
McCain promises four more years of the status quo!
We can make a difference. Vote Democrat!
Ok neocons spin it! Defend Bush and the oil industry with your rhetoric!

Ironside,
Can you please stop spamming the same old copy and paste everytime we have a increase in gas prices?

Probably can't. It's easier to just repost the same old simplistic "Blame Bush and Big Oil" message than actually try to grasp the complexities of international commerce.

hey ironside:
Socialism: Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.
That is a democrat from what i understand. Don't get angry with ironside he is 'special'

Would you rather have Hilary then Neez?
Surely the ultimate aim is to get the troops out of Iraq?

If Bush had sons do you think he would have wanted to send them off to war? I don't think so somehow. It breaks my heart to think of all these young soldiers who have died for nothing in my opinion. Get them all home as soon possible thats what I think.

Oil Can Bush made the American public pay $100.00 to fill up the Honda Civic.

Odd, I don't remember putting any gas into a Honda Civic. I've never even driven one.

Florida is surrounded by water and oil, there is NO shortage.
Support candidates for elected government office who will vote to REMOVE government regulations
that restrict free-market production and distribution of water and oil.
