PRIDE Awards recognize student achievement

The Collier County School District has announced the 2007-08 PRIDE (Program to Recognize Initiative and Distinction in Education) Award winners. PRIDE awards are presented annually to high school seniors for outstanding academic performance in four categories: writing, math, science and social studies. Winners receive a plaque and $500 from the district.

This year's winners are: Barron Collier High School senior Joseph Coleman, writing; Naples High School senior Daniel McShea, math; Barron Collier High School senior Katherine Caputo, science; and Barron Collier High School senior Matthew Campbell, social studies.

Good job students! Thank God teachers are still teaching and those students who REALLY WANT TO LEARN are learning despite all the CRAP that is going on in the CCPS ad center! I've been doing this teaching gig for 37 years now- probably more than Denny and his 2 Chicks combined!

WAY TO GO PRIDE WINNERS - congratulations!

BIOM- that wouldn't be too hard, since denny has never taught - and I'd bet my bottom dollar neither have the two chicks - not for long anyway -
