As part of our Campaign for Alcohol Free youth, The Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida has designated May as "Think Before You Drink" month.

With prom and graduation season reaching its peak in Lee County, the Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida wants to invite all citizens to “Wear Red Because Someone Loves You” on Friday, May 30. Statistics show that alcohol related car crashes are the leading cause of death of teens, with 36 percent of crashes involving teenagers between the ages of 15 and 20 caused by drunk driving.

Keral Kronseder Vogt, Executive Director of the Coalition said, “We are inviting everyone in Lee County to wear red to support the planning of alcohol-free graduation events throughout Southwest Florida.

We applaud schools who have planned alcohol-free celebrations for their students. We also want to remind parents of the importance of hosting alcohol-free parties at their homes”.

The following Lee County Schools are participating in “Project Graduation”, which provides alcohol-free after graduation parties for their students: Cape Coral High School, Fort Myers, High School, Mariner High School, Ida Baker High School and LeHigh High School.
