BONITA SPRINGS
Bonita Springs City Council has approved unanimously an up to three percent increase to the city's impact fees for the construction of roads and parks.
The actual increase will vary for each impact fee that is collected, but has been put into place to cover the city's cost of assessing and collecting the fee. Formerly, the city would subtract the cost of the collecting the fee from the impact fee payment made by the builder before placing the remainder in the city's capital construction trust fund.
The new system is the same system currently being used in Lee County and was formerly used by the city when Lee County was collecting the fees for the city. The city now collects its own impact fees.
"This is just a housekeeping item," City Attorney Audrey Vance said of the change.

Great move idiots. More fees are EXACTLY what we need to get construction moving. Great job.

Hmmmm,3% more of nothing is still nothing. If your in the neighborhood check out Collier't permit department off Horseshoe Dr. North. Place looks like a ghosttown.
What once was will be again in Collier and Bonita as well...

As obviously busy as they are, I'm sure they need this 3% to cover the overhead.
;-)

If this doesn't stimulate the local economy, nothing will. Good call, Bonita. Anyone who was on the fence will be helped by this.
