NAPLES Collier County’s patron mother, Annie “Mother” Perry, died Monday at 98. Mother Perry was featured on an hour-long special television program produced in early 2002 by the Education Channel, cable 20.
Hosted by Estates Elementary School Principal Oliver Phipps, the program includes an interview with Mother Perry in her Naples home. It also showcases an interview of her that Lely High School students conducted in March 2001.
The Collier County branch of the American Association of University Women suggested the Mother Perry television program be used as part of the group’s “Treasures of Collier County” series of oral-history interviews of Collier treasures.
The program will be shown on the Education Channel at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday; noon and 6 p.m. Sunday; 4 p.m. Monday; 8 a.m. Tuesday; 5 p.m. Wednesday; 9 a.m. Thursday; 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17; and 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18.
The program is also posted online on the district’s Web site, www.collier.k12.fl.us/edchannel/infovideos.htm.
