NAPLES The Naples Players’ ETC ... Readers Theatre will present staged readings of three early short plays by Tennessee Williams at 7:30 p.m. Sunday Nov. 2 in Tobye Studio.
Williams described these plays as “firecrackers in a rope ... plain youth and freshness.”
In the first play, a successful young playwright gets ready to leave Broadway, hoping to take his producer’s wife. The second traces the fate of a youth who swims out too far for his mother and the maid to keep in sight. In the third, a shy woman visits erotic novelist D.H. Lawrence in an effort to learn about men and romance.
Tickets for “Three by Tenn,” including “Fat Man’s Wife,” “Summer at the Lake” and “Adam & Eve on a Ferry,” are on sale at $10 each at the Sugden TheatreBox Office or by phone at 239-263-7990. Seating is limited.
ETC... , in its seventh season, welcomes volunteers as readers, directors, producers or committee members. Contact Becky Troop, Director of Volunteers, at 239-434-7340, ext. 14.
