Deputies: Man sold stolen laptops

A 23-year-old man was arrested Thursday on felony charges after Collier County sheriff’s deputies say he stole a laptop computer from the North Naples Country Club where he worked and then sold it to a pawn shop for cash.

Eric Louis Mazza of 8236 Ibis Cove Court was charged with grand theft, dealing in stolen property and defrauding a pawnbroker.

Mazza entered the unlocked golf cart barn at Quail Creek Country Club, 13300 Valewood Drive, around 4 p.m. on Aug. 19 and stole an HP Pavilion laptop computer valued at $749.99, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

Further investigation by deputies revealed that Mazza took the laptop to Capital Pawn Superstore, 1933 Davis Blvd., East Naples, on Aug. 20 and sold it in exchange for $175, reports said.

Domestic violence arrests

■ Kevin Daniel Walsh, 23, 100 14th Ave. N.E., Golden Gate Estates, was arrested Thursday at home. He was charged with grabbing the arm of his girlfriend, Nicole Dawn Tanaka, and shaking her.

■ Jamie Valdez, 30, 11420 Laakso Lane, East Naples, was arrested Thursday at home. He was charged with hitting his wife, Vanessa Shea Valdez, pushing her, straddling her stomach and punching her mouth.

DUI arrests

■ Kenneth William Lindsey, 65, 4602 Gulfstream Drive, No. 3, East Naples, was arrested Thursday at the intersection of Gulfstream Drive and Aztec Circle.

■ Samuelashley Rollo Bennett, 21, 113 Quail Hollow Court, East Naples, was arrested Thursday at the intersection of Vanderbilt Drive and Roma Court. He was also charged with damage to a barrier or pole, damage to vehicle defendant was driving, leaving the scene of a crash, and possession of marijuana.

    Since March 6, coyotes have been fingered in a string of attacks against dogs, cats and goats in Lee and Collier counties.
