FORT MYERS A Fort Myers woman remained jailed Monday after allegedly hitting her sister-in-law and nephew, then keeping the mother from calling deputies.
Luz Ascencion Olmeda-Hernandez, 25, of 18587 Geranium Road, Fort Myers, was arrested Sunday on five felony complaints: burglary with assault and battery, aggravated assault, kidnap/false imprisonment of an adult, confining a child under 13 years old with consent of a parent and possession of a fraudulent identification card.
The incident leading to Olmeda’s arrest began at Sunday morning when Olmeda allegedly entered the victim’s house while she was sleeping. The victim, Llaned Herrera Vazquez, 33, told deputies Olmeda “was demanding to get someone’s social security number so she or someone else could assume their identity for work purposes,” Lee County Sheriff’s Office records show.
Sheriff’s Office reports show:
Vazquez told Olmeda to leave because she had no idea what Olmeda was speaking about, which allegedly infuriated her even more. Olmeda threw a lamp across the room and ran toward Vazquez and her son. Olmeda began swinging her arms striking Vazquez in the face. During that time, the young boy, whose name was blacked out from the report, was struck.
Vazquez told deputies the boy being hit was not intentional.
Vazquez broke free from Olmeda, but could not leave the room, so she attempted to call 911. Olmeda knocked the phone away and the two continued to wrestle. Vazquez got the phone as a 911 operator called back. As soon as Olmeda realized it was the Sheriff’s Office calling, she fled.
Deputies went to Olmeda’s house and she spoke with them, giving them a Mexican identification card. One deputy noticed it was a fraudulent card, but had her correct name.
Olmeda “stated she had no idea why the police were there … she had just woken up and never left her residence,” records show.
However, deputies queried why the engine of her vehicle was hot and why she was wearing the same clothing as the victim had described.
She was arrested and Florida Department of Children and Families was called out to assist with three small children in her home.

The description of how the events happened in the article surely was worthy of a show.
