Ron Musick and Eddie Alfonso fished with me Monday, April 28, when we were hoping to beat the weather front predicted to arrive late Monday night. We had originally planned to fish on Tuesday but we rescheduled once we heard the forecast. Seas were predicted to be 2 to 3 feet offshore Monday but that wasn’t the case. Snook season closes Thursday in Gulf, Everglades

The recreational harvest season for snook will close Thursday, May 1, in the Gulf of Mexico, Everglades National Park and Monroe County coastal and inland waters, which includes Florida Bay and the Keys. The harvest season for snook will remain closed until Sept. 1 in these areas. Full story »
