The year: 1959. The setting: Naples’ Fifth Avenue South. The woman: A mystery. Paul Lindabury of Naples wonders whether readers will be able to identify the woman with a broom and dressed quite nicely just west of US. 41 and east of Eighth Street South. The cars and size of the buildings give away the era. Look hard and you can see the time and temperature clock that was the trademark of the pioneer Bank of Naples, center left, that now is a three-story mixed-use building — still anchored by a bank. Readers with local memorabilia or clues to the woman’s identity are encouraged to call the Perspective editor at 263-4773. |
