Scents, or the lack there of, was a priority in choosing plants for the Garden of Hope and Courage. Some people with medical conditions, or those undergoing treatments such as chemotherapy, are especially sensitive to smells. An abundance of fragrance could make them nauseous, so most of the plants and flowers in the garden have little to no fragrance.
