At Sunshine Ace Hardware on Bonita Beach Road, Jerry Carlin of Bonita purchases fasteners to cover the few weak points in his home with plywood. Carlin had hurricane windows installed in his home in Hacienda this year, but wants to be sure the house is more than safe.

Brad Wright and his wife, Joni Wright, put storm shutters on their rental home in Bonita Shores Sunday afternoon. Wright was born and raised in Naples and said he doesn't want to take any chances after Charlie. Wright's already had the shutters ready in case of a storm, and gets a tax write-off for having them available. "Here I sit as a tenant with no insurance if my house floods over," said Wright, "But at least I've got a roof over my head for now."

Foo purchased gas containers, candles, matches, and other supplies from the specially prepared supply shelves at the front of the store.

Mark Bransfield, floor manager at Sunshine Ace Hardware on Bonita Beach Road, explains generator options to Frank Jones, pastor of the Church of God on Old 41, on Sunday afternoon. According to Bransfield, managers from all six Ace stores in Southwest Florida rented trucks and drove to the main warehouse in Tampa late last night to assure that their stores would be stocked with plenty of supplies.
