Girl talk: Same gender classroom creates a buzz

Hana Ahmad, top center, is teaching her second gender-separated class as part of a Lee County School District pilot program to test the success of such classrooms. A bill introduced in the State Senate, which mirrors a bill in the House, would make such classrooms officially legal if passed. Last year Ahmad taught a class that was all boys, this year it is all girls. The school reported positive observations from last year's class and this one is doing well too, Ahmad says.
