Food: 1/10 Vibe: 3/10 Service: 5/10 Value: 1/10 Overall: 3/10
While the atmosphere is pleasant and the service adequate if not friendly, the food just isn't very good. The curries are watery and tasteless, the chicken over-cooked and tough. The soup was oily and tasteless as well. Not a restaurant to recommend, there are better Thai restaurants in Naples, I would suggest any one of them.

My wife and I are not at all familiar with Thai food but we were with friends that are. We allowed our waiter (which I think was the owner) and our friends to order our meals and wine.
We shared appetizers, each had a bowl of soup and shared 2 entrees between the 4 of us. Our friends are vegetarians so most of the meal was seafood or vegetables. It was all excellent. Definitely ask for the condiment tray which is an array of spiced sauces ranging from sweet mild to extremely spicy hot. Better ask about the HOT if you don't know, it was hot, but tasty. The wine was great!
We then shared a helping of sticky rice mango and fried banana. Both delicious, but we had some left to take home. We'll be going back.

This is a family business and the guests are treated as such. Especially if you have dined there more than once. The owner Bill is your greeter and waiter along with some occasional help. His wife Wong is your only chef.
The restaurant is meticulously clean and the food is always extremely fresh. Meals and sauces are made to order. So, you can range from cafeteria bland to traditional Thai, that is spicy enough for smoke to come out of your ears. Its all in what you ask for. If you don't see something you like on the menu, ask. Chances are you will get it anyway as Bill and Wong are very accommodating.
THAI STAR is located in the same plaza as World Of Rugs just south of the Duval Street Restaurant and Market.
If you like South East Asian cuisine, THAI in particular? THAI STAR is just that .... a "STAR" !!! It is TRUELY a hidden gem.
