All the melaleuca and brazilian pepper you see and most of the reptiles and fresh-water fish you see were born here, but the species were introduced just like the Texas cougar. The definition of native gets massaged to fit whatever agenda is in vogue.
Look at the NDN's fresh-water fish poster... quite a few "exotics". If they ever did a lizard poster, they'd mostly be "exotics"... but I agree that if something is born here, it's a "native".
I'm going out looking for native pythons in a couple of weeks... I'll keep y'all posted.

Keeekee... I think invective is a noun, like diatribe, not an adjective like vitriolic. You may not have a spiteful, venomous, acerbic, rancorous, mean-spirited, acidic, acrid, astringent, caustic, corrosive, cutting, mordacious, mordant, pungent, scathing, sharp, slashing, stinging, trenchant, truculent, sardonic, or sarcastic bone in your body, but these diatribes are interesting in their redundancy and also their repetition.

I think the next great crusade should be to make divorce illegal (for the good of the children, of course). Then we should try to reinstate the Racial Integrity Act of 1924 which was so hastily ovrturned by the liberals on the Supreme Court in 1967.

Too bad... I was looking forward to seeing him on O'Reilly and Letterman or at least the Daily Show. No guts or bad judgment? In any case we all knew this was going to end badly.

Logic... 6 posts in your first 2 days... going for a record?
The fact that both sides think that the NDN leans toward the other side means that the NDN is probably pretty well centered.

There's a website run by one of the local newspapers where you can type the name of any government employee from Charlotte, Collier, or Lee County and see what their base salary is.
Maybe if our (we the people's) money goes into an industry or company, we should be able to see those salaries also?
And I'd like to see some of what even the retired ones are getting. One never knows when reading a letter or a blog what interest the writer has in the issue... his pension... his investments... his children's employment... all conflicts of interest to objective evaluation.

On one or two occasions, the NDN has posted uncorrected, unedited Letters to the Editor... I think it was done as a lesson to those letter writers.
I suspect that if the NDN instituted a policy requiring all letters to be hand written and published them verbatim, many of us would be highly amused by the Letters section.

Bricklin... maybe the Mustang Ranch is losing money because they're offering free sex to troops returning from Iraq.

Actually, you should read the whole article, then read this one from FOX News... maybe you'll trust it?

Are coyotes "native"? They certainly didn't walk from out west down to south Florida in one generation... and we sure didn't introduce them. And there's fewer of them than "panthers". Why is it OK to kill them? Why aren't they protected?
