Don't they have anything better to do than entrap people for attempting to commit a victimless crime?

My husband and I had dinner at Meson Ole this evening for the first time in literally ten years, so we weren't at all familiar with the place. The food seemed rather inexpensive and we ordered one salad, one soup and two entrees - which were only $8.95 each. When the bill came we were charged $15.25 for one entree and $15.75 for the other. I called the waiter and asked to see the menu, and I saw that the entrees were $8.95 each. When I pointed out the different prices on the menu and the bill he told us that we had ordered from the lunch menu. I told him that we ordered from the menu he gave us and that we should pay the prices we saw on the menu. He went off and got the manager, who came over quite belligerently and who insisted that we pay the price on the dinner menu. He went off and got the dinner menu to show us the real price, and I tried to explain to him that we had never been there, ordered from the menu they gave us and didn't even know there were two menus. He told us that the lunch menu said "lunch" and that the dinner menu said "dinner" but in actuality the lunch menu said nothing about what it was, although the dinner menu said "dinner." He also told us that in Naples, FL you don't pay the same for dinner as you do for lunch.
To make a long story short, it got to the point where I threatened to call the police to settle the argument, at which time he finally changed the bill.
An apology would have gone a long way in this situation, but we got nothing but a really nasty attitude from the guy in charge.
The food was good, the service was good but no one should have to have an experience like that.
I'd avoid this place with a ten foot pole.

If you get up to Estero, the prices are even better - $3.67 at the 7-11 on Corkscrew/Three Oaks and $3.66 at Costco.

-- Spyridon Mantadakis, 34, of 110 Madison Drive, North Naples, was arrested Monday at home. He was charged with attacking his wife, Kristina Goulet, with a knife, calling her a derogatory name, and telling her that he had a gun in the house and knew how to kill animals.>>>>
He must have been a shepherd before arriving in the US last week.

How are all you people who claim to have no power or no cable posting on the Internet?

I opened my Lee Co. ballot yesterday and see that the only thing I can cast a vote for on August 29 is sheriff because I'm registered as an Independent. It's doing a disservice to these candidates that most people won't even turn out for an election that so limits the voter. This election should have been held during a time that more Independents turn out at the polls.

Blackcat - there was no indication that the 18 y.o. driver was sitting at a red light, got the green and charged forward. More likely, they were traveling E on Bonita and the lady ran a straight red to make her left turn. I just see no other way for the 18 y.o's SUV to have enough speed to have caused more than a fender-bender.
Having said that, the usual argument is w/16 y.o. drivers. At 18, your way off base.>>>
Let's wait and see if she just blew through the light without seeing that it was red or if she went through the intersection at the end of a light change. You can pick up a lot of speed as you see the light changing, and you don't have to have a high speed to kill someone if you broadside a small car with a Navigator.

Perhaps if the driver had been more experienced - and not an 18 year old with a 15 year old friend at his side - he might have been more aware that it's wiser to wait a few seconds after the light changes and look carefully before proceeding.

That was a pretty racist comment about race, CIT, and you're making quite an assumption about mine based on my user name. You know what they say about people who assume, don't you?
