mthalo.... what was the immediate threat from Saddam Hussein to warrant the invasion they voted on? Dummy-up man! Obviously you ARE naive enough to believe that it was possible for the Democrats to change enough Republican minds to overturn a veto and bring the troops home. That's funny.

I now see the mentality that got Bush re-elected, and McCain/Palin 46% of the vote!

I'm happy more people aren't like you, and now Obama will soon be occupying the Whitehouse.

Pianoman, you know as well as I do that the Democrats could never get enough votes to over-ride a veto on bringing the troops home. I know you're not so naive to believe otherwise. There were too many rightwingers in the Senate and Congress beating the drums of war and preaching "stay the course."

Bush vetoed one bill in the six years the Republicans controlled the Senate and Congress, that was on stem cell research. He vetoed 11 bills in the past 20 months the left took over control with the slight majority.

The buck stops with the President, or in this case the (p)Resident.

He's the "decider" and this is HIS war of choice.

Bush almost ruined this great nation with his foreign and economic policies.

Those that voted for him in 2000 were ignorant or naive to his views and those that voted for him in 2004 were fools!

Thank God the Democrats will soon be at the helm to repair our great nation, once again!

Bush FINALLY admitted it, Iraq war was "biggest regret of all the presidency" and more than he could handle!
____________________________________

Looking back on his eight years in the White House, President George W. Bush pinpointed incorrect intelligence that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction as "biggest regret of all the presidency."

"I think I was unprepared for war," Bush told ABC News' Charlie Gibson in an interview airing today on "World News."

"In other words, I didn't campaign and say, 'Please vote for me, I'll be able to handle an attack,'" he said. "In other words, I didn't anticipate war. Presidents -- one of the things about the modern presidency is that the unexpected will happen."

Spin it any way you want, it is what it is... regrettable.

Pianoman, Congress voted on a use of force in Iraq in the case our homeland or the troops in the Middle East were in immediate danger. Not to just invade Iraq on assumptions and deceit.

Bush is the self-proclaimed "decider" and as Commander in Chief only he could make the decision to invade Iraq. This is his war of choice.

I hope our elected officials have learned this mistake. I see many voters haven't.

Pianoman, Vietnam was already at war when we got involved there. Iraq was at war with nobody, not even among themselves when we invaded them.

Had there been a civil war in Iraq and we chose to take sides and help with military action, it may have been excusable.

We invaded Iraq preemptively, and that's WRONG!

Pianoman, two wrongs don't make a right.

You'd think we would have learned the lessons of Vietnam, evidently not.

I won't "let it go" when our elected leaders recklessly utilize our brave. No way!

Pianoman, are you talking about the chemical weapons of mass destruction that the Reagan administration helped Saddam Hussein obtain to use on the Iranians?

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The neocons here believe that the Democrats voted for war with Iraq. How ignorant is THAT?

There is no declaration for war wth Iraq.

The vote was to give Bush permission to invade Iraq in the case our homeland or troops in the Middle East were in immediate danger from Saddam Hussein.

That never was the case, but Bush had a score to settle to avenge his daddy, and he EXPLOITED the vote for his own "noble" cause.

The war in Iraq is Bush's war of CHOICE! Iraq and Saddam Hussein have NEVER done anything to America or any of her People outside of their own borders.

The Bush administration should be held accountable for invading Iraq and the killings of so many innocent people over there and the 4,207 of our own troops killed and another 30,832 injured American troops. SHAME ON BUSH!

The necons have ran this nation in the ditch and once again the Democrats will have to fix the Republicans mess-ups!

Sanity, the war in Iraq is Bush's war. You can't pawn it off on anybody else. He's the decider, remember?

No, they didn't all see the same intel Bush saw. The Bush administration cherry-picked and manipulated what intel was shown. They also outright LIED to their case for war. I see you have learned nothing from our mistakes in Iraq. That makes you (as a voter) part of the problem.

Your King George can't get out of Washington DC soon enough. He has nearly ruined this country.

And we continue to spend $10 billion a month in Iraq. DUH! Money borrowed from China. When will so many Americans ever learn? Supporting the QUAGMIRE in Iraq has been a huge mistake for so many reasons.

I hope Obama can fix this mess in his first term that Bush has created. Our economic and foreign policies have been disastrous under the Bush administration.

Anybody that voted for Bush/Cheney in 2004 is partly responsible. Take responsibility for your vote!

IMPEACH Bush/Cheney/Rice NOW! They are war criminals! Yes, torture is a war crime! It's no surprise that the troops donated so much more to Obama/Biden than to McCain/Palin.
