Another company that exploits illegal cheap labor makes good. MIA Brat, they may not hire them directly for high profile jobs, but I bet if you look among the subs you will find illegals. That's how it's done.

This is outrageous. How many people have written the Gov to say they do not want this??? I guess politicians just do what they want. More reason to vote them out. OK, I'll show at the meeting and register my thoughts in person.

Good letter Sandra Judd. Thank you for speaking out. I find Jose de la Ilsa's columns offensive, too.

I will vote for the person, apparently Rambosk, who will continue to address illegal immigration. I find it strange that we would worry so much about criminals (i.e. illegals) being afraid to report crimes, and perfectly appropriate that illegals (i.e. criminals - even though perhaps not violent) are afraid of calling the police because they will get deported. Can we not deport people humanely? Are we obligated to protect those here illegally only to allow people to continue living here illegally? Doesn't illegal mean not legally here - as in need to leave? Why do we serve a community that inherently breeds crime instead of humanely dismantling it? Whoever best addresses this issue gets my vote.

Yeah Jose, I'm gonna start a group called La Blanca, and then explain that it just means "the white" because we like the absence of color - it's a retinal thing. And while we only really help white people, regardless of whether they are breaking the law or not, we are not a racist group. If we don't like other people's reaction to our little club, we can just call them racist back and confuse the issue, no problem. You'll buy that won't you?

As long as the students are in the U.S. legally... it amounts to preferential treatment. If the students are not here legally it is preferential treatment for law breakers.

Paul Boland,
Your letter exemplifies the attitude that many recent (illegal) immigrants have. They want in so we need to make it easier. We are supposed to set immigration policy for what's good for citizens, not to accomodate the desires of immigrants.

I am not sure why we want to be planning more growth in a very low lying landscape. Is this not more flood damage waiting to happen in a time of rising sea levels and more intense storms?

Nina, excellent article. Points well taken. Main point being that this is America and WE decide who comes and stays - yeah, in our dreams! Leftbehind, this is not a non-issue, it touches moat of the issues in America today. Our political leaders would like us to believe it is a non-issue and ignore it hoping we will give up and let their friends keep their slave labor. How else do you get rich in America? No by working hard anymore. I will not vote for anyone who advocates giving invaders legal status. Guess I won't be voting...

Isn't it nice we warn the theives of the anti-theft measures - so they can adjust their tactics and targets of course.
