All Naples High fans, students, staff members and their families and friends need to BOYCOTT THE WENDY'S ON US 41 ACROSS FROM MCdONALD'S. They posted a sign Friday that said : "Go BC Beat Naples." Too bad they didn't pick the winner. Now they are the loser. I hope the manager who made this brilliant decision won't miss the thousands of customers who will not set foot in that place again!

Someone sitting near me in the stands commented that it was clear the Estero boys gave up. Their linemen were barely bumping the Eagles players and their tackling was half-hearted. Most of the other opponents Naples has faced showed fight all the way to the last play. I'm just sayin...

He "loves his job." What is this guy? A masochist? I think he loves his contract and when he gets fired (which I believe is his real goal), he will float off into the distance in his golden parachute of a retirement package (better than Baker's, don't ya know?) Good riddance. What an awful plague has descended upon Collier County. What did we do to deserve this?

Thompson has no base here. Even the "blue ribbon" committee is critical of his leadership. Did he expect them and the NDN to become his sycophants like Abbott and Donovan?
His foundation is not cracking -- it was never there.
As he continues to fly into the face of the wind,
it seems he is either not very smart (which no one should believe for a minute) or he is trying to get fired. That makes more sense since he has a golden parachute retirement deal not unlike Baker's. Has he purchased a home yet in this buyer's market economy? Or is he still renting?

"I want to make sure everything is correct."
This from the same Mrs. Abbott who circumvented the Sunshine laws in her backdoor dealings to bring Thompson in. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!!
Strange that not a single campaign ad or sign has appeared from Mrs. Abbott. Could it be that she doesn't want to waste money on a race she cannot win? She chooses instead to attack those who are giving their campaigning an all-out effort. Can anyone say "sour grapes" ?

Buy some picnic tables and let them eat outside. This is Florida. Some sunshine and fresh air work wonders when you've been inside a stone building all day. On days that are rainy or too hot, use the gym. Students at the other high schools who have had single lunch for years would rebel if they had to give it up.

Prediction is for a mere 20% turnout! All who are concerned about the future of our school system need to get to the polls and take friends and family with them. VOTE. Choose the candidates you feel can best serve our students, and then go VOTE.
IMO Julie Sprague and Kathy Curatolo are the strongest voices for community input and involvement as opposed to one or two administrative voices calling all the shots.

Wow. The truth in print is powerful, isn't it?

Look carefully at the candidates who are running for School Board in District 2. Rick MacClugage has stated he thinks too much public input at school board meetings interferes with the smooth running of the "business of the board."
Silly me -- I thought public input WAS the business of the board! Isn't that why we call it PUBLIC education?
Kathy Curatolo welcomes input on issues as she has shown, especially over the past year.
In District 4, anyone but Abbott is an improvement. Sprague and Swanson seem the most down to earth.

This game gave fans everything they could ask for...thrill of victory, agony of defeat... and a roller coaster ride to get there! Congrats to the Eagles. They stepped up when they needed to and showed what they can accomplish with unity of purpose. Heck of a lot of entertainment for five bucks!
