Yeah, but I doubt that pug and small children are a natural part of their diets.

Where I keep my horse up north - coyotes are common, but they avoid the farm, horses, people and dogs like the plague. So their behavior here is unnatural and they definitely should be tested for rabies.

Well flcertifiedteacher - even with incomplete sentences I caught your drift and I totally agree with. Seems that you were still able to communicate your point of view effectively (afterall, these comments are not professional essays).

Before Baker was even fired, the board sent Terry Walters to interview Thompson. There is no indication whatsoever of other candidates being interviewed at all. Afterall, the board would have a record of other candidates' interviews and that would be of public record in the board's meetings. There are none.

And I think you make excellent points.

In addition, it's not the lottery, but the American investor that helps fund the innovations that normally wouldn't be. The innovations that you obviously are too short sighted to invest in, but will complain when they're too long in coming for your comfort.

There are innovations in wind power, solar and possibly bio-fuels that need investors to help fund that research to power this country. You're simplistic remedy to paying cash for everything doesn't cut it. Last I heard, the lottery isn't helping fund any of this research either.

Good luck with that lottery thing - pfftt!

Neal:

Other than my car, (it's a used car too by the way)I have pretty little debit. But I also have a pension fund and a Roth IRA which I contribute to monthly.

I pay myself first and do invest myself with my talents and creativity. But the average American needs more than their Social Security check. I know I will to retire.

You don't realize that you're comments do NOT answer the complex issues for providing for the senior populations retirement. Instead what you think is great and simple homespun common sense is actually pretty stupid.

And the lottery is a tax that you give to people you've never seen and will likely NEVER offer a return. AND THAT IS MORONIC!!!!

Hey Neal:

What stocks do you think are in your retirement or pension portfolio or mutual funds?????

There is oil in Wyoming, Montanta and North Dakota. The Military has experiments effectively with a synthetic fuel derived from coal, but the congress will not allow either.

My bet from a previous blog still stands. Want to bet that the oil problems are ease in November when the congress (with a possible democratic president) suddenly relents and allows drilling in Anwar so they can take credit for solving this problem?

And Bush is the moron?

Pauls - you're wasting your breath here. The average blogger here doesn't realize how absurd the suing OPEC really is.

I'm finding the level discourse here disheartening. If this is the level of intellectual discourse - it doesn't bode well for our country. But that's probably George Bush's fault.

Pauls:

Thank you. All the research on embryonic stem cells research shows that about 20% of the time tumors occur because embryonic stem cells are programmed to grow rapidly. When used in this research, the test subjects die as a result of these tumors. But that's probably George Bush's fault.

Adult stems cells are more promising ultimately because they don't have that problem.

And since the 1970's we've been charting a 400% increase in volcanic and seismic activity which may have contributed significantly to global climate change. But that was George Bush's fault too.

I also hear that the polar ice caps on Mars are melting? Now I know George Bush is definitely responsible for that - God what a jerk!!!

And call me cynical, but the oil industry was before the congress today. They mentioned they've only been getting a 7.9% profit. While that's a nice profit - it isn't excessive.

However, they did ask the congress when they were going to allow or open oil fields and allow drilling here (probably referring to the Anwar Oil fields in Montana and North Dakota) which some geologists estimate is enough to handle our demands for several decades.

There seemed to be silence from the congress on that question. Hmmm.

Here's a bet for anyone that wants to take it. Want to bet when both houses and the white house are occupied by democrats that the oil problem gets mysteriously solved and we're pumping to our hearts content out west and the democrats take credit for solving the problem that they could be remedying now but it's still more fun to blame Bush for the problem while we are hurting at the pump???

Just a thought and a little prediction.

Here's another little tidbit for those who think Gitmo was so horrendous - 37 of the detainees that were released have either been caught in acts of terrorism and suicide bombings since released. I suspect there's more to come too. But that's okay because they didn't kill Americans, so we don't hear about it too much in our media. Hmmm.
