Ask members on a board hand picked and put in place by the mutual parties with interest and gains from the sale and of course they'll say yes to the purchase. Now, ask the tax paying and economic sufferring public and they'll say No, which is just what those involved and filling thier pockets don't want to hear.

I think that the best way to protect our officers from these drunk drivers and those that cannot drive at all due to lack of experience or excessice stupidity, there needs to be policy guiding them to effect traffic stops off the roadway if possible take a side street shoulder or parking lot. At least get them off the roadway or travel lane and away from traffic as much as possible. Sometimes they conduct the stops on the lanes of travel putting themselves in this great danger. Today the police cars are equiped with computers that facilitate the officer's needs and make thier lives easier while doing thier dangerous duties protecting us however this also requires them to sit in thier squad cars which is a death trap. We have too many reckless and careless drivers for them to put themselves in that level of danger on the roadways. I know there are times when the officer has no choice and the suroundings limit his/her's capability to conduct the stop at a safe location though this is not always the case especially at night where there are many access to vacant parking lots on the main highways available. This is usually when the drunk is out and about behind the wheel.
I'm glad to see that this time our hero walked away with minor injuries, usually thats not the case. My husband is a firefighter and he tells me how at times they have to block the lanes inorder to provide a protective barrier while they work on an injures person in a vehicle. Even with the size of thier trucks, and all the lights flashing, at times their apparatus gets struck by passing cars. Most of the times its rubber neck Joe who take's his eyes of the road to look at the scene instead of where he is going. Remember that Police Cars are not built like they were years ago. Plastic, rubber, fibergalss, and sheet metal does not serve as a shield of protection.

Good Point there d5stealth,
You would think that since one of their own ran for public office he would know who are the crooks, where to look, and how to investigate them. No, way, not ever! These crooks dominate in every corner of the county. No-one will dare touch them, not even the local news media investigators. We're not in Lee County. Here they found a safe haven.

I am happy with Kevin Rambosk being elected, it was what most voters wanted and its a change in that department. Although, I much rather would have liked to see Ortino there for some issues that probably will continue to go on especially since Rambosk is from within and his years of service in Collier has brought him close ties to the Corrupted Couunty Government Official we presently have in office. The same ones that Jeff has befriended throughout the years in thye name of "Politics". Rambosk & Ortino would probably be the best of both worlds if we could have elected both. This way there could be someone who can chase the crooks out of there without having to think of past realtionships or political favors.

PIEFACE
Everytime you write a blog defending the Big Sleeper we throw-up in our mouths. Go swap some mosquitos will ya! After all thats what you want and probably all you're good for. Don't even dream of running for the "C" seat when the #1 Combo Sandwhich from MacDonalds vanishes.
GOLDEN GATE ESTATES REPUBLICANS PLEASE SAVE YOURSELVES! VOTE FOR THE DEM Mr KISH!
Anything but Coletta.....ANYTHING!!!!!!

I think that we have been sold the same old bag of rocks from the Greater Naples Better Government Committee in the past as well as in the recent Primary Elections. Cornandbeans posting #1 & Suntan posting #2 you are both dead-on. We need to vote just the opposite from what these City of Naples Chamber of Commmerce control freaks over Collier County want. They need to keep thier noses in city business where it belongs.
As for Larry Ray, BTV you are correct, and he was the facility engineer a.k.a. custodian. Though he's good friends with Guy and the Good Old Boy Crew running the county aground. I know you don't agree with this BTV but you are on the right train of thought. He's not qualified to be a Tax Collector in this county.
I am a Republican and so is every member of my family living in Collier. We are holding weekly meetings at our home and we will vote different from our party if need be. As for Coletta, NO-WAY. I rather vote for Kish the Democrat before Coletta. Although Kish not doing anything about getting elected, there is a strong message to be sent by the Republicans, we will elect the one who is right for the people regardless of their party affiliation.
NO VOTES FOR COLETTA, PATERNO, or RAY!
Golden Gate Estates Voters that Voted for Bob Alonso need to stay true to the people, don't support Coletta. You don't have to be a part of another 4 years of lies and dishonest leadership. I'd rather not vote if I lived out there.
Bob Alonso if you read this talk to your people don't let them be misslead. Everyone will be here for you in the next elections, we will get your name out in the next 4 years. Our friends and Co-workers in the Fire Dept outside the crooked union, and Collier County Sheriff's Deputies will be there again to support you.
Please Mr. Alonso answer our emails, let us know how we can help you!
Is alonsoforcommissioner@yahoo.com still a good email address? can anyone say?

Goodland??
You are an annex of Marco Island. You have more than enough amenities available for your use in Marco, including the beaches.
Before a drop of anything goes to Goodland, it needs to go to Copeland. There's poverty, misseries, and poor living conditions there that haven't been addressed by the Commission in years.
On City hopes to receive more money from Collier County for its parks

For the ones here who think we (The US) should normalize any relationship with Cuba you better open your eyes and ears and soon. Cuba presently has Venezuelans, Iranians, and Russinas in the Island among other nationals from Terrorist Countries identified by the US. There cannot be any such normalization with such enemies who are munching at the bit to destroy this great nation and its people here and abroad. The solution at best is to do away of the Wet Foot Dry Foot and the other couple of policies and Acts allowing anyone from Cuba to be permitted once they land on our shores. This will immediately cure the boat thefts that seems to be the only concern with the local and federal agencies around here. You really can't blame them because non have the backing from Congress and it is only going to get worse if this country decided to normalize any relationship with Cuba, especially when they house so many enemies of America. Seems like everyday the Coast Guard and Border Patrol intercept smuggling vessels and home made vessels loaded and just a few miles shy from our shorlines which is too close to home and given the fact of who lives in Cuba today that is scary. God only knows how many Cuban spys live in our south Florida communities today that have filtered through the so-called screening system. They work not just for the Castro brothers but you can bet they provide info to Iran, Venezuela, Russia, China, Korea, and others who are affiliated and have "Normalized Relationships" with a Communist Country like Cuba. These enemies are stting-up camp just 90 mile away from our homes. And this is just the tip of the iceburg, then there is the Mexican Border where the smuggled Cubans and anyone else from Cuba just seep-on-through. The Cubans that arrived in the US prior to the 1994 Second Mariel Boat Lift most likely came here seeking assylum and trying to get out of the Communist Regime but anyone after that, I doubt it. This generation of Cubans are born and raised in a Socialist and Communist life style, they don't know any other form so they just want to come here to suck-up all they can to send back to Cuba and feed to the Communists. They even steel from Cubans who came here in the early 1960's who have earned the right to be American Citizens and protect this country. We do have some of these honest and hard working Cubans in Collier by the way. Just ask them how they feel about the new commers. It was very heartbreaking when the new President-Elect stated that once he became President he was willing to work at normalizing relationship with the Cuban Government and also to do away with the Embargo and Blockades. We might as well pull-down the American Flags and raise one for each enemy country that he will be breaking bread with. Sad!
