What an act. The GOP showed its real face, outside of an election year, during Katrina.
What a great excuse to nix Bush and Cheney, the two most hated men in the world, from the convention schedule.
Country First?
This mean killing 4000+ American troops in Iraq?
This mean degrading the constitution?
This mean keeping the mindless consumers pumping 93 octane and shopping for crap nobody needs?
McCain and his obligatory woman running mate will make Mondale appear successful.

The Repugnicans deserve what they get. The irony will be enjoyed by every neglected inhabitant of the area who suffered after Katrina.

This is what happens, Linda, when you vote the interests of your friends and church pals instead of the public at large.
I'm shocked you scared up 15%.
Makes me proud to be an American.

Interesting analysis, bsdetector.
But the wording in the letter you've quoted sounds like standard government enviro lip service to me... cutting CO2 emissions, improving mileage standards, blah, blah, blah.
I'm sure Charlie doesn't give up secrets that easily. A tanned, svelte, 50-something-year-old bachelor who happens to get engaged during consideration for the vice presidency knows how to keep things on the DL, I promise you.

Like the hand-raising tattle pusses who make up the bulk of her constituency, Abbott has always been quick to yell foul. You know, because blame for failure must be placed outside the self.
There's never been one positive comment about her on this blog.
Calling Curatolo a dog-faced nasty pants isn't saying anything about Abbott, and that's the path all "pro-Abbott" comments walk down.

Does Batten have access to the nationally-syndicated side of the press tent?

Besides, if the banking system collapses, and I have no doubt this could happen any time, tangible assets like REO will be invaluable. After years of writing bad loans and selling them in bundles to foreign investors as "securities," after another dime can't be lent or kidney-punch fee collected, GET THIS, the banks get the overpriced, soulless suburban 5-bedroom McHouse back, to sell as scrap or rent out as slum accommodations to displaced extended families.

John McCain is a war criminal who bombed disinterested civilians from 15,000 feet with napalm and high explosive. He's the farthest thing from a hero I can imagine. At least John Kerry killed his foes up close and personal. McCain being beaten by captors who five hours before he tried to kill isn't torture. It's called justice.
And hey, at least he got to live -- to become a lumpen life-long politician from Arizona. Not so much for the children and women he erased from existence from the cockpit of his fighter.
I guess when compared with cowards like Bush II and Cheney, McCain looks like Alexander the Great.
