This is such a long standing mess. It goes back to the prior super who was all but tarred and feathered and werent so many people so glad to see him go and now again the present Super is hated and eventually will also go down the tarred and feathered path Im sure. Lots of people want Thompson gone, no secret there. But letting anger be your guide is not going to get anyone anywhere. It didnt work with the prior Super either.
But in the end after all is said and done, what does all that have to do with the kids? This is THEIR education. Not ours to squander away trying to make a last stand. How is this going to make a point with Thompson? Its going to show just how ignorant we are all that we will screw over our own kids to punish a man we accuse of mismanaging our schools and doing things to hurt our children. But its ok if WE hurt our children?
NOT!

I dont understand how anyone with children in this school system could do anything BUT vote yes to this referendum.

This vote is NOT about Thompson. Its about our kids and their education.
Base your vote upon whats best for the students, teachers and support staff.
Anyone who bases their vote on anger and personal feelings of vengence toward Thompson cant see the forest for the trees anymore and is as guilty as he is when it comes to hurting the students.
Set aside your feelings of vengence and make sure your vote is about whats right and best for the kids.

I dont understand how any white American could possibly vote for Obama, not because he is black but because he supported and worshipped at a church where anti white and white hate messages were spewed from the pulpit to its predominantly black population.
Racism cuts both ways and it appears we have a presidential candidate who supported a racist church, whos reverand spewed hate messages as good as any terrorist could.

yeah lets ALL run out and vote for Barack Hussein Obama who claimed ignorance to the racist "white hate" sermons given by his rev and spiritual advisor in a church he,his family and close friends attended for so many years.

Im sure the Obama camp is freaking out about his full name being used and they would like to have it ceased immediately as would all the misguided people who will vote for him.
I believe its more than coincidence that a presidential candidate with a muslim name and muslim roots ie. (muslim father) wants to sit down and chat with muslim terrorists with no pre conditions. Am I insuating he is muslim himself ? NO absolutely not, I am saying he may have sympathies perhaps.
Barack Hussein Obama, a man who instead of following in his fathers muslim faith, decided to join a "white hating" radical christian church whose congregation consisted of a predominantly black congregation. He felt so good there that he also took his children there to hear those wonderful messages from Rev Wright.
Racism isnt only confined to white people although some would reason it otherwise.
Im surprised any American would want him as president. Personally either way you cut it, this guy isnt right for America.

one more comment to level head
to your first statement and I quote
"Only in America do it's citizens think it is socially appropriate behavior to "cut loose" whenever the spirit moves them, showing just how violent, mean and nasty they can be."
Yep makes perfect sense, people are leaving their wonderful countries behind, where life is good, love of fellow man and money to raise their families flows abundant, they leave all that good stuff behind , risking life and limb to come here in boats or sneak illegally across borders because they want to live with us violent mean and nasty Americans. Right....and your point was?

levelhead you are misguided. It makes me wonder whos dollar you are living on.
You obviously have little understanding about this country and its citizens. America is one of the biggest contributers of aid to countries in need around the world and in house our tax dollars support many costly programs designed specifically for immigrants to help them settle into this country, many illegals here also enjoy some of those programs as well.
What many like myself are tired of, is the abuse of our dollars that go toward people who do not contribute or give back in some way to our society. I call them leeches. They have no regard or respect for our way of life, our people or our land.
They come and suck whatever freebies they can from our system without regard to who pays for it now or will in the long run. They bog down our health care system, our jails and if you go to their "neighborhoods" you will see how they take care of our land here.
So with that said, I am more than willing to help anyone coming here legally.
I am non of the things you describe above, I am a tax payer who supports legal immigration but absolutely does not want to support anyone coming here illegally. I say ship the whole lot of them back. They didnt make it to dry land. The laws are clear.

maybe its time teachers start filing assault charges against students. Why should any teacher be assaulted? I dont believe they should have to tolerate it, not even by kids with special needs.
If a child is so out of control as to be a danger to others then I dont think a public school setting is the place for that child.
Maybe when teachers are encouraged to file charges more often when they are assaulted, parents will have to figure out some personal accountability for their children and themselves.
I think our schools make allowances for behavior problems and for special needs students and thats as it should be, however I dont think a student who is violent and assaults teachers and other school staff should be allowed to remain in public school. Its also very stressful and distracting and detrimental to the education of the other kids. It isnt fair to anyone.
And it seems all the parents have to do is yell foul, lawyer up and the concern for many is thrown under the bus for the concern of one.
