Nothing like waiting until the last minute to explain things. I am sure many people have already gone to the polls without having an explanation they needed to make an informed decision. This should have been published daily for at least a week before today.

#1 you are absolutely right about the great system and machines we had before. I have always felt and still do that if a person can't understand plain english about the instructions, I don't want their vote. They obviously have no clue and can not make the rational informed decisions we need to properly vote on the issues. Regarding the amendments, I agree they are written in a manner to confuse and probably result in an invalid outcome. I called Saunders and Richters offices and complained, and suggested they have a handout at the polls to explain in plain english what was actually meant by each issue. The wording is loaded with double negatives and I am afraid far too many people cannot understand their meaning. If an item is beyond a persons comprehension, perhaps it would be better for that individual to not vote on the item, rather than take a Vegas crapshoot guess. A friend and I went over the amendments in detail and made sure we fully understood them and went to the poll with a filled out sample ballot so we knew what we were doing in advance. The most confusing one is the on definition of a marriage. This one is definitely a double negatine trap, probably written by a gay activist who wants to overturn the present definition of one man and one woman as a recognized union. My recommendation, for anyone who needs a little guidance is to answer the questions as No, Yes, Yes, Yes, No, No. As #1 put it so well, we here in Collier County have never had a problem with the prior machines. I restate my point that if someone is so unable to understand simple instructions, I don't want their vote.

Many of us have said I75 would be finished before Vanderbilt Beach Rd. Not only is it a disgrace, but it should be an embarrassment to our Commissioners and traffic engineering department that they don't have the guts to deal with the road builder who is obviously milking our tax dollars and enjoying frustrating the residents. I would like to know if and how much the penalties are for the delay. And if there are none put another turkey feather in the Commissioners caps for their lack of interest to protect our tax dollars.

This is outrageous. Water rates just went up substantially about a year ago with no reasonable explanation. With housing starts at a standstill and many properties sitting vacant due to people moving or unable to sell their properties, it would appear that water consumption is down, not up, and there is no basis for any increase. This just seems like a scam to get monies to increase the salaries of the employees. Since the utilities division was recently involved in a porn scandal resulting in many of their emplotees being fired, it would seem that their budget would be lower and there is no basis for an increase. This is another item that should be fully justified by the Commisioners and put on the November ballot for we the taxpayers to either approve or deny.

Now all we need to do is establish a scholarship fund for the panthers so they will learn to read and know where their boundaries are and stay within them to be safe. Maybe even illiminate the panther crossing signs so they can see them more clearly and not be jay walking.

Public records (MYFLORIDA.COM) clearly indicates that he is not a Broker, but only a Salesman. This might be another violation of unlicensed activity if he was acting as a Broker without being properly licensed. What a disgrace to the profession.

Wait until the traffic backs up to Rt 41, then realize the whole idea was a monumental mistake. I assume the bridge will be widened at the same time it is repaired. So what happens at the bottle neck on the Marco side once across? Perhaps the better solution would be to make the necessary repairs to the existing bridge to insure the safety of those using it.

Maybe this explains why our water rates have skyrocketed. Without these drones I hope we will see a downward adjustment to a more realistic level. Since there is no better service provided, I assume the outrageous last increase was to pay the excessive number of personnel that were never really needed. This house cleaning is long overdue. Road department should be next. Classic waste of time and tax dollars is the inability to get Vanderbilt Beach Road completed. Lee County got Three Oaks Parkway completed from Bonita Beach Road to Estero Parkway in record time. Maybe their employees are out doing their job rather than sitting on their butts playing on their computers.

Why isn't Club Ultra being cited for serving the underage Blanco? Seems like there are a lot of incidents at this place. They allow immature idiots in who take every opportunity to prove just how stupid they can be.
