Sexual assault stories in the NDN always lack identifying clues. That is as it should be. What bothers me the most about this story is the comments from all of you who doubt. There are a lot of innocent 16 yr olds who would believe that this monster knows their dad and would harm them both if they told. There is a rising trend of male on male rape and no one believes these victims either. Because of attitudes like yours. That is why female rape has taken so long to come out of the closet. Because people like you said it was her fault because of the way she dressed or because she dated too much or whatever stupid uninformed reason you old men could come up with.
Try thinking like a young protected innocent teen age girl. It is not a giant leap for me to believe this girl was assaulted. If the monster does know her dad then he would probably know her cell #.

If we believe a person is innocent until proven guilty why can't we believe a teenager is being truthful until proven a liar?

WM will give you as many recycle bins as you want for free. You can get a nice big heavy aluminum trash can with a lid for under $30 at Home Desperate.Very retro! And it can take a beating better than the plastic trash cans.

ZhuZhu, I don't mean this to be nasty at all but the mere fact that you feel a sentence was too strong for a rapist simply means you yourself need more counselling on this issue.

As for the reverse osmosis idea, couldn't the reporter have gone a step further and researched how much something like this would cost? It is a great idea but is it out of reach for most of us?

If they spent a billion dollars to keep just one child safe, it was worth it.

Sometimes the abused child grows up to be the abuser and so on and so on and so on. The whole abuse situation becomes a huge never-ending pyramid scheme costing us billions to house the criminals, medical & psychological help for the victims to "recover", prevention efforts like above, etc.

It is not a waste of money to keep our children safe.

cornandbeans, these killers don't feel guilt. It won't matter how long they sit in prison. They just aren't wired the same as the rest of us.

It is what it is.

Jimboaw, Christianity only represents 33% of the world's beliefs so you will never get a consensus on how to handle cold blooded killers in every society. In our society, we separate state from religion(s). Makes sense since there are so many belief systems out there but only one government.

So when he does violate his probation, that means another girls life is ruined. Another life destined to be filled with self hate, self abuse and destined to raise children who will also have low self esteem. And so on and so on and so on. A low self esteem, self loathing pyramid scheme is what he is guilty of starting. In fact there is one for each of his victims. He needs to be stopped permanently.

Sounds like she needs to do a little cost cutting herself. I would start with the 26 year old college student. Those of my children who did attend college did it on their own and I have one who is putting herself through law school. I, too, put myself through school.

If you lose your insurance, then start making deals with your health providers. Most of them will give you the Medicare rate if you are self pay and ask! There are also hardship prescription programs available through the drug companies themselves.

She just completed the triathlon at the Naples Beach Club a week or two ago.

You rock Amy! Someone give this girl a laptop with a wireless connection and let her blog her way to Maine. I'd like to read about her adventure since I'm not as brave as she!

Good Luck!
