Hey GatorBite . . . when's the last time you accessed the white sandy beach through Pelican Bay? I thought so!
They consider anyone outside their border as 2nd Class citizens and the sandy beach is for their private use.

Let me see if I have this correct . . . the boat ramp was built "on time and on budget" and as far as I know . . . no complaints from the residents . . . It's too bad the same can't be said for ANY County proposed project in the lofty community of Pelican Bay.
BTW . . . this new Golden Gate boat ramp is Off Limits to anyone from Pelican Bay!

The Pathway looks like a great idea to me . . . but to Patty Huff and Maureen Bonness . . . I suggest you stop looking through your Rose Colored Glasses . . .
. . . because no matter how many "humans" the Pathway will benefit . . . unless you're able to teach the Red-cockaded Woodpecker . . . and the Florida Panther. . . and the Gopher Tortoises to ride a bicycle . . . and maybe even train them do a few "wheelie's" . . . Nicole Ryan, Brad Cornell and Nancy Payton will fight you every step of the way . . .
For their job security . . . those three live to "sink new ships" . . . even before they're christened.

Come on HOMEBOY2 . . . the picture isn't as bleak as you've painted . . .
Think about it . . . if the Teamsters Local 79 would like to negotiate with the District . . . what better negotiator could the Union negotiate with?
Why it's none other than Mr. Steve Donovan . . . the experienced Lead Negotiator of the contracts for Dr. Thompson and Mr. Withers!
I would anticipate the Custodians "walking away from the table" with a 20% increase in their hourly rate . . . and to "ease their pain" from the high price of gas . . . a chauffeured limousine shuttling them to and from work.

To the Tourist Development Council. . . “Give me a break!” Why should the residents of Marco Island be asked to”donate” $40,000 worth of dirt so your greedy members can continue to “line their pockets?” Since the museum will put warm bodies in their beds and rumps in their chairs . . . let the hotels and restaurants issue a $40,000 check to the City.
I can use the services of our public libraries for free and with my Beach Parking Sticker, I can park and use our beaches for free . . . NO User Fees!
But when it comes to the children of Collier County using the soccer and softball fields at our county parks . . . especially the North Collier Regional Park; which was paid for with OUR impact fees . . .the children have to pay a User Fee!
What’s wrong with this picture?
The County contributes thousand’s of dollars to support the activities of the TDC . . . the TDC then promotes Collier County as a Sports Destination . . . then all of these "out of County" teams come to Collier County and wear out the fields . . . leaving fields the children of Collier County have to pay to maintain . . . and what do these greedy owners of the hotels and restaurants do . . . They laugh all the way to the bank!!!
With the hotels and restaurants making all the money from these tournaments . . . the members of the TDC should contribute a portion of their profits for repairing the damage to our fields . . . the fields damaged by their "out of County" guests!
To the Marco Island City Council . . . Please . . . “Just say NO!”
On Historical Society seeks Marco’s assistance to save about $100,000

"The school board in Kansas City has gained a reputation for micro-managing the district and end-running its own superintendent."
"The Atlanta school board attended "governance training" to better define the roles of people involved in education and improve communication."
Mmmmmm . . . where have we heard this before?
When examining the nation's 60 largest public school systems . . . the average superintendent's salary was $208,000. Now for little Collier County . . . how was Dr. Thompson able to negotiate a salary of $275,000? . . . Oh I forgot . . . we have Mr. Donovan to thank for that.
2010 will be a good year . . . as we'll be able to say goodbye to Donovan and Calabrese! I can almost smell the fresh air trying to rush in.

A coach "worth is salt" would take his dismissal "like a man" and look for a job elsewhere . . . but whinnying to the Naples Daily News will not get his job back . . . all it does is indicate that he's a child impersonating as an adult.

Keith Larson of Bonita Parks and Recreation saying . . . "The city can do little beyond keeping the leagues separated through scheduling" . . . is like a coward hiding in a closet!
Hey Keithie . . . you get Rodi and Briceno in the same room and start the conversation out by informing both of these "children" that until further notice . . . all of the soccer fields are shut down! That should get their attention . . . maybe then their egos will get out of the way to insure a good season for all of the players.
On New soccer season, same old turmoil in Bonita between organizers

OK . . . I'll admit I'm not a fervent fan of Florida State . . . but during the Wake Forest game with quarterbacks Ponder and Richardson self-destructing . . . seeing the sad looks on the die-hard Seminole faithful almost brought tears to my eyes . . . I said ALMOST!
Question: With 33 "starts" . . . do you think Weatherford would be an improvement?
Now if you'll turn down the volume on your i-Pod . . . you should be able to hear the faint rumble of a heard of Buffaloes rumbling toward Jacksonville . . . fitt'in to chase the filly Renegade . . . along with Princess Osceola . . . limping back to Tallahassee!

Com'on Council People . . . if you liked Souza so much . . . why didn't you vote to make HIM your City Manager?
It appears Souza did more as your "interim" . . . to uncover slip-shod accounting methods . . . than Moss ever did . . . or Thompson ever will.
It's fun being your own City . . . right?
On Marco's Parks and Recreation Director Dana Souza resigns
