I thought the verb was "tase", as in "Don't tase me bro' !" You know, you tase someone with a taser?
Even NDN is confused-- they used both forms.
Our grandparents never had this debate!

Never heard of a "React Belt."
What a lovely idea. Maybe they should have tested it just to make sure it was working, huh?
CTL, don't you have an out-of-control cat? Maybe you should look into one!! :)

I don't think there's any doubt the boy enjoyed the physical experience; however, the problems arise because although he is obviously ready physically for a sexual experience, a 16-year-old generally isn't ready for all the emotional baggage. The 30-something's perspective isn't even remotely close to the 16-year-old's-- therein lies the problem.
I daresay my 16-year-old would enjoy this too-- that is, until the creepiness started with the "old woman" hanging around being stalker-ish.
THAT is what he should be protected from (the emotional abuse that results because of the illegal sexual act)-- and that is why this is a "big deal".

Go Eagles!!!! What a game, down to the very last second.
My entire section was yelling for them to go for the kick-- guess they couldn't hear us.
That's OK, we still love you.

I love my custodians. I support them (and tell them so). I put up signs too.
I'm concerned about all the name-calling on these blogs. I really love to read the paper in this format, because I learn so much about what goes on behind the scenes, on many issues.
The insults really get everyone off-track, and truly serve only to make people (like me) discount your views. I really try to listen to all sides, until the mud-slinging starts. Then I just move on to the next posting.

Actually, the last time a story about BF ran, there were all kinds of bloggers posting critical statements.
Glad they've left...
BF is going to pay for my daughter's dorm, we hope.

Well, they certainly should get something for teaching in Immokalee. Gross.
CCPS will pay for your masters courses, but... I have seen my colleagues not be able to consistently take courses because by the time the county reimburses them for the course they just took (and paid for), the deadline to register for the next course is past.
Not to complain, as they do reimburse you; however, I was one of the few teachers that could register on time for the next course (shelling out the $ up front); most of my younger (and broker) colleagues had a problem with not being able to cough up the $800 up front for the course, as they were still waiting to be reimbursed for the last course.
As I said, the Immokalee teachers deserve something. And while we're on the subject, why do the Immokalee middle schools run an hour longer than everyone else? Do they get "combat pay", as I used to receive in Miami years ago, for teaching in an "undesirable" area? They should...

#21 I was just thinking the same thing. What's the deal with bodies in the canals?
Terrible...doesn't matter where it is.
What a way to go.

Alejandra Cuellar, thank you for being a responsible and dependable young lady, and for making the best of a tough situation.
I'm glad to hear all these people have been settled somewhere, at least temporarily, and I am uplifted by the response of all the people providing care-- trying to make things more normal for them. I can't imagine being displaced from my home for any period of time.
Nice story update, thanks.

Thank you, to all of you who try to make a difference. I will find out when you are doing this again and I'll be there.
Why don't you let the public know about things like this, and more could volunteer?
Again, thanks.
Lots of problems in the world to tackle, but hunger/clean water trump all the others.
