Choruschick,
You are a shining example of the caliber of student the university churns out. I think you meant to spell "course", instead of "corse". Also, you probably meant to say "our lives" instead of "are lives". These are minor, but you have to admit that there is a certain amount of irony in your post. I have taken a good look at the website for the university and I can say that I am not impressed. Unless you plan on working for some kind of religious organization, a degree from here will be useless. Trust me. You can't truly learn math and science with a religious bias. Logic and the Scientific Method contradict everything the school stands for. I'm sure the Liberal Arts and Theology programs are decent, but I'm concerned that they don't include the broad spectrum of theology. Free thought is not something that is encouraged at these kinds of schools.

With only 400 students, how good could the education you receive from this school be? I can't imagine that there are many degree programs or enough experts to even teach some of the upper level classes. But when you are a religious school, real education is not as important. Faith overrules intelligence. IMHO, private schools like this one should not be accredited in the same way as other schools are. If I were hiring somebody, I would be wary about somebody with a degree from a school like this.

Seems like a pretty black and white issue to me. The guy makes some statements that suggest that being gay is determined in the womb, instead of being a personal choice. While this makes the most sense, given the life of ridicule and stress most gay people will face, it contradicts the beliefs of the church. If "gayness" is determined in the womb, why did god make those people that way and how does it fit into his plan? This is one of many contradictions that religious people don't realize or choose not to ponder. The leaders at Ave Maria and the rest of the religious community do not want to accept this as fact because it puts a major contradiction in the minds of the people. This will be bad for business down the road.
The solution: make the guy resign. (fire him)
On Former Ave Maria provost: 'I think it was a mistake to fire me'

This is absurd. The biggest indicator of a child's performance is the parent. If a parent is responsible and has a decent worldview, the child will do better on the average. If the parent just slides by and lives life by doing the bare minimum, the child will learn by example. Basically if the parents aren't the type to do well in school or care about certain things, an excellent teacher can only do so much. It doesn't even matter what the parent does with the child.(buying lots of books, tutoring, etc) The important thing is who the parents ARE. If they are responsible people, the kids should do ok. The main problem is the area and the overall mentality out in this area. It is sad to drive through and see the conditions in which some families are living. If we can work to improve the conditions in this area, the grades will surely go up.

The only problem is that traffic citations are supposed to be issued to the driver and not the person to whom the car is registered. The photos will only allow you to identify the person or company who registered the vehicle. We should increase the penalty and make an example of some people.

David,
Any citizen who is not satified with the way things are going owes it to himself, his country and his children's country to stand up for what he believes. It is what makes our country so great. Anybody who doesn't question the actions of the government is a traitor.
BTW: There is much more total military experience in the 2 houses of congress than there is in the current administration. I think they have some idea what they are talking about. The important thing is that it gets discussed instead of just accepted.

Chuck,
Your letter speaks volumes about your intelligence or lack thereof. I think the best thing he could have done was gain the support of the international community and then get the guy who was responsible for 9/11. Unfortunately, he/we have failed to do either of these things.

Energy savings is the guise. Recreation and increased spending is the real reason. It's good for the economy.

This is nothing new. Statistics are, and always have been, a way to spin information. There is no such thing as an unbiased, perfect study with completely accurate results. We all need to keep this in mind while we read or hear anything. The world would be a better place.

attila,
It always about religion with you, isn't it?
It's only satanic if done as part of some satanic ritual where people are intentionally attempting to worship satan. I doubt that these kids, or all of the folks who used to become "blood brothers or sisters", were performing a satanic ritual. If I had ash smudged on my forehead or holy water splashed on me without the ritual behind it, I would not be worshipping unless the intent was there.
