Hmmm...considering how no matter WHERE one lives in Collier County, one still has to address an envelope with their return address is 'Naples' (even those of us that live about 30 miles inland from the City of Naples proper!), I'd have to argue then that 'Naples' DOES have homeless people IN it, #5 :)

Agreed, #11... they literally have us 'over a barrel'...an oil barrel, that is. I think there's a "What are you going to do? NOT buy gas??" sneer on the faces of the gas companies whenever they pull this. But, I don't really think that the individual 'Joe Blow' gas station itself makes hardly anything of a profit on the sale of gas. It's all sucked right back up by the gas/oil companies themselves. I think the individual gas station has their you-know-whats in a vice on this too.

Seeing how momma and daddy were both locked up on several instances for drugs (and she still is), wonder if maybe he was too 'out of it' to even think about the baby until it was too late. I'll be interested to see exactly HOW the fire started. A sad, sordid state of affairs...

Quick question... was this land that was taken by Water Management actually OWNED by these people with ATV's, or were they just 'using empty space'? I'm seriously asking because I don't know and I'm not trying to be sarcastic. Because I know people in other states (and Canada) that own ATV's have to either ride on their own land or take their ATV on a trailer to a place where they can use them. Since people on ATV's and dirtbikes already seem to feel that they have established the 'Golden Gate Estates Expressway'(namely on empty lots which I guess they feel if it's empty, it's ok to tear it all to Hell), I'm not sure if this will actually make a difference; I think they're just going to keep on riding on the streets and through the backyards instead of putting their toys on a trailer and take it to someplace where they are supposed to ride. It's the old "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free" scenario. If they would actually be forced to use land that was given to them (i.e. fines if your riding on a street), then OK. But I'm having a hard time feeling sympathy if this land didn't belong to them in the first place. They didn't actually have anything taken away from them.

Agreed #18 mikesgirl, I wish that they kept Wild Oats open as well (a little closer for us, but not by much!), or at least had kept it open until the new store opened up! I know Alton Brown from 'Good Eats' has Whole Foods on his show all the time... maybe we can convince him to come down and film an episode? ;) (BTV, I think you said that you saw him at the Phil a year or so back... we did, too. He was good!:)Wish they'd do that again.)

#28..."Fat, drunk & stupid is no way to go through life, son"-Dean Wormer, Faber College, 1962. :) (well, OK, the kid's not fat... but maybe a little of the other two). If it was a 23 year-old female drunk and naked, she'd have a blossoming 'acting' career on the "Girls Gone Wild!" videos. 23 year-old guy gets jail time. The ol' double-standard is still alive and well. ;)

"#3 Zen, I'm sorry, but he's only a nominee at this time."
Yeah, there's still a few months left in the year. We can get at LEAST 10 more of these ding-dongs in that amount of time. :) Besides, he'd have to shoot of a few more pieces to beat the "DUH!!!" of the guy who decided to go kite-surfing during Tropical Stom Fay. Seriously, this toe-shooting sounds like something that Les Nessman would have run on WKRP as 'hard hitting news' during the farm report.
