I agree with Bramble and BTV on hope Saunders will run for that seat. But I am not sure if he has enough name recognition state wide that will be needed to win that seat.

What my man concern is that empty suit Mack will run continuing in the following of his father's foot steps. Bad enough we are saddled with Mack but the whole state does not need him.

I sure won't be sad to see him leave office. He has accomplished very little in my opinion.

I think he can see the handwriting on the wall by deciding not to run for office again. Anyone closely tied to Bush will have an uphill battle to remain in office.

I would love to see some true Florida politicians the likes of Bob Graham or Lawton Chiles run for office again. Our state was in much better shape when they were in control.

Just looked at the video on news-press.com. Very clear that both player had the ball in bounds. That means it belongs to the offense.

I have to agree with kerjolo. There is a big difference between spanking and abuse/domestic violence. That is the problem any more is that our society has come to believe that the two things are the one and the same which they are not.

And no native I am not a wife beater. I am about as non violent type of person that there is.

Of course I do not know the entire story here and what all is behind it so I can't really state a opinion without knowing the situation in that family.

I can tell you one thing though, if that had been me when I was that age there would have been a trip to the wood shed involved. An old practice that needs to make a comeback as far as I am concerned.

My apologies to the Naples fans but I am afraid that was a Dunbar touchdown.

I am not sure if the FHSAA can or will overturn a call like that or not. I am glad that they are at least reviewing it. If the wrong call was truly made there it would be very bad for the team that was wronged.

Our power was out for about 3-4 hours yesterday. It went out with the first gust of wind from that storm.

This is a common occurrence in my neighborhood. Any little gust of wind and the power is gone for a few hours. Like eaglebeak we spent most of the summer resetting everything in the house.

Sure glad I got that generator a few years back. I have long given up on FPL on being reliable.

Rugby, you are probably doing the right thing by joining the Airforce at this point in time. My best wishes to you as you serve our country.

There will be a very limited opportunity to be hired by any SW Florida fire agency anytime in the next few years due to the economy and tax reductions. The only real chance of job openings in the near future will be because of retirements or resignations of existing personnel.

That alone is why there has not been any fire academy classes recently. There is just not a major need in newly trained firefighters currently.
