If they couldn't have found a better picture they shouldn't have run one at all.

Is anyone editing this online paper?

How can Fay be 235 miles south of us if it's just left Key West and Key West is 120 miles due south?

Has anyone else seen the 5 o'clock NOAA map? They have TS Fay hitting FL as a TS, not a hurricane.

If they want to increase beach access in North Naples there are a few miles of beach that are currently off limits to the public, and they should start there instead of the ridiculous proposal to build a parking garage in a state park.

I guess proposing a parking garage is an easier solution for them than tackling the Pelican Bay problem.

When Publix takes over the Albertson's just south of Vanderbilt Beach Rd they're going to have two locations right across the street from each other, the other being in the Pavillion.

What are they thinking?

Or will the current Albertson's be for Pelican Bay residents only so that they don't have to rub elbows with the Naples Park crowd?

I sent this letter to the editor at 7:30, not for publication but just to comment:

The following sentence appeared in Brad Kane's "In the Know" column today:

I feel your pain, though, Pam. It’s not always easy finding places you like, and it sucks when they are no longer available when you want them. Plus, satisfying a craving for good German food is just about impossible in Southwest Florida.

The word "sucks" used to be confined to the young, those incapable of finding a better word or those who were trying to shock - and not a word used by a newspaper reporter in a mainstream publication read by a largely older audience. It's not really language that I expect or like to find in my morning newspaper. His columns are generally annoying and long-winded, but he's been allowed to hit a new low today. Does this man not have an editor who realizes what the impact of that word is?

Want to reduce the traffic on Bonita Beach Rd? Build another bridge to Fort Myers Beach and get all those people off our roads, and what a difference we'll see. During season I'd estimate that more than half the traffic on our roads are people heading to or from FMB, most of them in a real hurry about it.

I don't get all of this "native species" nonsense, usually spouted by people who arrived here from the Midwest themselves about ten years ago.

A funeral chapel the size of a football field?

Interesting, to say the least.
