Those who vote for Obama are in lala land. He is the biggest example of socialism that we have seen in many, many years. McCain is not Bush. McCain and Palin are not creating hate. If you can't handle the TRUTH about who Obama is, that's your problem but don't blame them for it. Most of what you're hearing stated about him is true. He spent years working with Ayres and he knew exactly who he was. He spent 20 years in Rev Wright's church who is on video stating his hate for white Americans. You can't deny a video tape and again, Obama knew exactly who he was. If you claim he is that stupid that he doesn't know who he associates with then that proves very poor judgement and shouldn't be making national decisions. You can't grow an economy from the bottom up - that's not possible. Only jobs will get this economy going and putting heavy burdens on small businesses and corporations will kill jobs. He has given $800,000 to ACORN, through his campaign, who is under FBI investigation for voter fraud (FACT). He received money from terrorist Ayres, who hides behind education to poison the minds of our youth. The money Obama received for "so called education" programs didn't go into the school system at all. It was used to fund the socialist, radical organizations. Why don't some of you stop reading tabloids and start paying attention to the NEWS. Start reading articles that are non-partisan and open your eyes. We can't afford more ignorance in this country.

Cate Laguzza, you obviously don't watch news and are clearly unaware of the facts. Ayres was a domestic terrorist but has even in recent years stated what he did was right. He has not asked for forgiveness. He uses the system of America in a different way than his previous bombings to accomplish the same thing. He puts together socialist, radical organizations to taint the minds of our youth. Are you out of your mind? He is no christian.
Obama is a socialist and if you listen to his policies this is very clear. He can't come out and say that's what he is, because no one would vote for him.
1. It's impossible to build an economy from the bottom up. The bottom doesn't employ American workers. When the handout runs out, there's nothing.
2. Imposing higher taxes for anyone in an economy like we have now will only create a depression. That has already been proven in history.
3. Obama is either lying about his past with Reverend Wright, Bill Ayres, ACORN or he is a very poor judge of character. What type of cabinet do you think he will choose?
4. He is for bigger government.
Wake up - I can't believe so many people are so ignorant.

Since when is it inappropriate to use someone's full name. If saying his middle name is offensive then why hasn't he had it changed? It's very simple to legally change your name. This certainly sounds like a double standard. I agree with swflnativegirl, what's the difference between a sheriff openly supporting a candidate or a Sentor, Governor, Mayor, etc supporting a candidate? Aren't they all paid public officials?

I wish you would stop bashing Palin. Why don't you take some time and see who Obama really is. He's the one you should be looking into. He has a history of associating and working with radicals and terrorists. Bill Ayres was not his only questionable friend. He has many. He wants to change America all right, but not the way we all want. Is this someone you want in charge of our country? I care about my family and friends too much to trust someone who shares such twisted views as the company he has kept. I know he denies it, but what do you expect? Do you think he would stand a chance at being elected if he admitted to his associations? Use your heads and open your eyes and ears. It's not propaganda, the man can not be trusted.

#62 is a disgrace to human beings. I suppose if everyone stops having children because of the issues you state that the world will be better. No, that's called EXTINCT. Older women can have very healthy children. Children are beautiful. Obviously you don't have any which is why you are probably so miserable.

Palin's speech, regardless of who wrote it, contained a lot of detailed information to show some of the ways she represents the people she works for. Her influence in our government's economy is needed. She is a real person with a real family and real issues and she's handling them. We need real people in Washington now. Both Palin and McCain can state specific things they have done and accomplished. Obama can not. He hasn't done anything. How can so many people blindly follow someone just because he talks good? Anyone who critizes Palin because of her good looks, is obviously not attractive and jealous because what difference does that make? Poking fun at her youngest child is cruel and unnecessary also. This blogging has lost it's purpose. It's turned into a bunch of cynical people who apparently have nothing better to do than sit around and make fun of people. What happened to the "meat and potatoes" of the issues. It seems to be a lot the same bloggers who have nothing constructive to offer. Obama talks change, but what "change" is he really offering? All change is not necessarily good. Some are afraid that Palin is not qualified to be President in case something happens to McCain but what about Obama who is running for President. How in the world is he qualified? Palin is more qualified than he is. I find it ironic that the so called "unqualified VP" is an issue but an "unqualified President" is not? Somethings wrong with that picture.

Absolutely hands off! Merit scholarships do a lot more than just help financially. They give motivation to the students themselves instead of everything coming from mom and dad. Without the student's continued hard work to keep their grades up, they loose the scholarship. It's not an unearned handout. I'm tired of everything being so political all the time.

I have a child that is not yet of school age. One thing is for sure. I will be leaving this selfish, greedy place before that happens. My child WILL NOT be subject to the school system here. I don't know who is right or wrong but I know that this mess is way out of hand and there seems to be one bad decision after another.

I find your decision repulsive. I along with many others am fed up with your weakness. You have chosen a path of socialism. My family and many of my friends have decided to relocate to an area that believes in freedom, strength, independence and capitalism. You, naples daily news, are no better than the smearing newspapers that have little by little helped to destroy this country and freedoms we used to stand for.
This is the last article, blog, etc that I will ever waste my time on with your paper. You suck!
